Le Daviaud subscribes in its work to the general principles of the mission of ecomuseums:

The aim of ecomuseums and folk museums is to promote the natural and cultural heritage of their region as well as the scientific, technical and ethnographical heritage, and  to preserve the folk memory of the region. Ecomuseums and folk museums do not only have a role in conservation, with the help of local inhabitants, they also play an active role in the life of the area, and in its development. They participate in the debates and experiments in their society. Questions dealing with identity, differences, current problems and new directions in society are also a matter of concern. “
